Easy access, close to everything. $15 breakfast very reasonable.
The excessive cost over the v8 weekend. I know its wide spread over the whole town but accommodation is very expensive. I go to every round of the v8'S. Townsville & Adelaide both escalate accom prices for the weekend.
Position of the hotel is brilliant, resturant downstairs is very good with great service. The reason I booked the hotel was because of a previous business partners recommendation.
in the better part of central townsville next to the restaurants
room tired needed refurbishing and a good clean
Good front desk service and Restaurant. Great location. Undercover parking
The television was an outdated analogue set with poor reception. The coffee cups are tiny there were no mugs. The cleaners trolley sat in the same place in the hallway outside the room for over two hours
The location of the hotel was good, with a variety of places to eat and drink nearby. The free parking was secured at night, which was great.
The room was outdated - think tragic 1970's tropical look - and the lift smelled like a nursing home cleaning liquid had been used aplenty. Then there's the fridge - old, battered and need of defrosting (I have no idea what the house-keeping/management are doing). And then we got hammered for a credit card surcharge just to top it all off. Not a good experience - which sadly seems to be par for the course for Rydges hotels...
I stayed at one in Sydney and it was disgusting then thought I would give it another chance and my partner and I both agreed that we would not stay at another rydges again due to the fact that looks like it had the same things in the room for 50 years not very clean. building nice on the outside but not on the inside. one of the lifts smelt like rotten eggs. I think you should lood at redecorating and puttin new bed spreads on the beds. not relaxing at all
Location is good for shopping, restaurants, marina. Due to wife's illness & return home advised by dr. staff were most polite & anxious to help in any way possible.
Hotel is tired - in definite need of total renovation. Will not recommend until renovations are completed
Position and convenience and still not too far to walk to the Strand. We also appreciated the early start for breakfasts.Particularly liked the ability enabling one to control the air conditioning to our needs, this is often not the case in hotels.
Check in was 2pm, when I arrived there was no room available. Very unhappy with this. Room was available at 5.30pm, still had to pay full price. Staff said there was nothing they could do. Not from Townsville and had no where else to go, absolutely ridiculous, I will not be back again.
It was ok pretty outdated rubbish view and dirty room the floor needed a Hoover the glass to have a drink in was dirty the spoon and coffee cup was dirty and the bathroom needed a good scrub.
We found it conveniently placed, the breakfasts were good and always ready on time. Our room was well provided with towels etc and backed up each day. The staff were always most obliging and pleasant We would always be happy to come to a Rydges Hotel again.
Great beds and very comfortable. Nice views and great hotel staff & service. Woulkd def stay again. I hate paying huge prices at hotels and although I still thought the rate was above my average the stay was much better then i thought it would be.
Only bad thing was work being done on the hotel. Drilling that vibrated the walls between 7-9am then nothing. Would be bettter if they drilled during the later morning hours say after check out time.
Its Proximity to where we had to be suited us but for the price and the condition of the rooms we will be looking else where in the future
Excellent steakhouse; great bed
1. Convenient. 2. replacement of faulty electric jug and cord was quick and efficient 3. Breakfast room service was greta and a good breakfast too.
1. On level 2, the view of cigarette butts outside our window was extremly poor. Butts from a previous event/s were left in a pile on the floor outside our window and remained there for the duration of our stay and were in fact added to during our stay. 2. the rooms are very tired and out dated (plastic shower curtains, plumbing etc) 3. Other family members took advantage of the upgrade facility. I did not know about it and was left on level 2 (Battlers Avenue) whilst other family members were upgrade to rooms with a view.
